Scholarship Awards Dinner

May 2025

Our ROTC and ROTC Scholarship Chairman, Major Wes Whitacker presented scholarship awards and General Bud Martin (Civilian aid to the Secretary of the Army) Challenge Coins to Cadets:

JROTC Major Sargent Tommy Max Ledesma, Jr. East Surry High School. Captain of the 2024 football team. All Conference Lineman. Plans to attend Appalachia State College in fall of 2025.

JROTC Battalion Commander Wesley James Driscoll. R.J. Reynolds High School. All Conference Golfer Spring of 2024. WSFCS Leadership Awardee 2024. Plans to attend Florida Gulf Coast University with studies towards PGA Golf Management/Marketing.

In a separate ceremony on 12 May, LTC Al Chandler (Ret) awarded Cadet First Sergeant Isabel Herrera, Forbush HS, Army JROTC, our MOAA JROTC Award.

Other guests included: Sgt 1st Class Joquin Bethen and Sy Towle, Cadet LTC Marion Mills, Cadet Major De'Myia Sentell, and Colonel Robert (ROTC Senior Army Instructor)
